The Ukrainian Navy has reported the destruction of the tanker Mekhanik Pogodin, which the occupiers used as a control center. This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy on Facebook.<\/p>\n
“On March 11, 2024, as a result of a successful air strike by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a tanker flying the flag of the Russian Federation, Mechanic Pogodin, which the Russians used as a control point, was destroyed near the Kinburn Spit,” the Navy said.<\/p>\n
After the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam, the tanker was thrown into the temporarily occupied territory.<\/p>\n
“The tanker Mechanic Pogodin was arrested and was located on the territory of the Kherson seaport until the summer of 2023. After the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the tanker was thrown onto the shore of the Kinburn Spit, which is temporarily controlled by the Russians,” the Navy said.<\/p>\n
The vessel was used to strike at Kherson region.<\/p>\n
“Subsequently, the enemy deployed an observation post for reconnaissance and electronic warfare equipment on the mentioned vessel.
