After the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, human rights violations became a regular practice on the peninsula. The occupiers, ignoring resolutions and decisions of authoritative international organizations, persecute people on national and religious grounds, as well as political beliefs.<\/p>\n
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, currently 33 people who are outside the occupied Crimea are being prosecuted in criminal cases. 27 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people:<\/p>\n

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center considers such actions as suppression of the nonviolent struggle of the Crimean Tatars and their protest against the occupation of Crimea.<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center once again calls on the international community and international human rights organizations to increase pressure on the Russian Federation and the occupation authorities of Crimea in order to stop political persecution.<\/p>\n
