This was reported by the Crimean Human Rights Group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc3\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Kyrylo\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Barannik was charged under three articles: Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal acquisition, storage of ammunition), Art. 275 of the Criminal Code (Treason) and Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc3\">Currently, Kyrylo Barannyk is being held in pre-trial detention center 2 in Aqmescit (Simferopol). The investigation into the Barannik case is being conducted by FSB investigators Ale<span lang=\"EN-US\">ksa<\/span>nder Lavrov and Ale<span lang=\"EN-US\">ksa<\/span>ndr Kuznetsov.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc3\">We remind you that in June, 33-year-old Kyrylo Barannyk was forced by torture and threats to confess to blowing up a railway track.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc3\">According to Barann<span lang=\"EN-US\">y<\/span>k, FSB officers beat him and tortured him using electricity, despite the fact that he admitted his guilt on May 30, when he was kidnapped and interrogated at the FSB department. The arrest report was drawn up only the next day after the confession, which was confirmed by Barann<span lang=\"EN-US\">y<\/span>k\u2019s mother. There is no record of Barann<span lang=\"EN-US\">y<\/span>k\u2019s arrest on the court website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc3\">From June 5 to June 6,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>, Barannik was tortured with electricity for 3-4 hours, demanding to confess to blowing up the railway near the village of Ch<span lang=\"EN-US\">y<\/span>stenke. He did not admit this, after which from June 9 to 10 he was tortured for 6 hours in the FSB detention center.
