During the 10 years of occupation of Crimea, the peninsula turned into a lawless territory. After 2014, thousands of activists came under repression for their civic position. Criminal cases have been opened, detentions, searches and arrests are systematically carried out, people are forcibly disappeared. And after the start of a full-scale invasion, this practice spread to the newly occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
The indigenous Crimean Tatar people find themselves in a particularly difficult situation and are subject to repression. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, during the entire period of the occupation of Crimea, the number of political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal cases reached 305, 205 of whom were the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n
Moreover, in general, during 2017-2023, 9,006 violations of fundamental human rights were recorded in occupied Crimea, 6,365 against representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n
After 10 years of persecution and repression, people are tired and want guaranteed protection of human rights in Crimea!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Namely:<\/p>\n 1.Right to life, liberty and security of person;<\/p>\n 2.Respect for human dignity. No one may be subjected to torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;<\/p>\n 3.Freedom of movement, free choice of place of residence, the right to freely leave the territory of Ukraine;<\/p>\n 4.Freedom of thought and speech, the right to freely express one\u2019s views and beliefs;<\/p>\n 5.Freedom of worldview and religion;<\/p>\n 6.Freedom of peaceful assembly and association;<\/p>\n 7. Protection of property. The right to own, use and dispose of one\u2019s property, the results of one\u2019s intellectual and creative activity;<\/p>\n 8.Right to work, which includes the opportunity to earn a living by work which one freely chooses or accepts.
