This document proclaimed fundamental civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights at the international level and thus established their standards. However, not all countries adhere to the principles of the declaration. In particular, after the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2014\">2014<\/span>, the human rights situation on the peninsula is constantly deteriorating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">After the occupation of Crimea by Russia in\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2014\">2014<\/span>, thousands of activists came under repression for their civic position. Criminal cases have been opened, detentions, searches and arrests are systematically carried out, people are forcibly disappeared.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The indigenous Crimean Tatar people find themselves in a particularly difficult situation and are subject to repression. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, during the entire period of the occupation of Crimea, the number of political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal cases reached 305, 205 of which were representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Russia, violating international law, continues to carry out mass repressions and put pressure on Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. According to the\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">CT<\/span>RC, from\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2017\">2017<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>\u00a0the following was recorded on the peninsula:<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">458 searches (325 in relation to Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span data-ukrnet-code=\"1504\">1504<\/span>\u00a0detentions (1210 in relation to Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span data-ukrnet-code=\"1460\">1460<\/span>\u00a0interrogations (1100 regarding Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">1,446 arrests (1,054 against Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span data-ukrnet-code=\"3180\">3180<\/span>\u00a0violations of the right to a fair trial (1999 in relation to Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">584 violations of the right to health<span lang=\"EN-US\">care access<\/span>\u00a0(384 in relation to Crimean Tatars)<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">374 transfer<span lang=\"EN-US\">rings<\/span>\u00a0(293 in relation to the Crimean Tatars).<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">In total, during\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"20172023\">2017-2023<\/span>, 9,006 violations of fundamental human rights were recorded in occupied Crimea, 6,365 against representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The Crimean Tatar Resource Center wants to remind Ukrainian society about the occupation of Crimea, about human rights violations on the peninsula that are carried out by the occupiers, about the systemic repression of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples, and that after nine years the situation is only getting worse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Moreover, this practice also extends to the newly occupied territories of Ukraine &#8211; Zapor<span lang=\"EN-US\">izhzhia<\/span>\u00a0and Kherson regions, where the occupiers are trying to intimidate people in the same way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Let us recall that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center not only records human rights violations, but also systematically informs the international community about the crimes of the Russian Federation in the occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Over the entire period of their work, experts of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center submitted 108 applications, complaints, reports to international human rights organizations and their structures:<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 ECHR (25 applications);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples (7 documents);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 EMRIP (7 documents);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (8 documents);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 UN special procedures (22 documents);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 UN Human Rights Committee (2 statements);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 UN Committee on Women\u2019s Rights (4 documents);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (2 reports);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (7 complaints);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 HDIM, OSCE (22 reports);<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u2014 other OSCE bodies (2 documents).<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The infographic was developed by #LIBERATECRIMEA activists, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and Ukrainian artist\u00a0\u00a0<span class=\"xfmc3 xfmc4 xfmc5 xfmc6 xfmc7 xfmc8 xfmc9 xfmc10 xfmc11 xfmc12 xfmc13 xfmc14 xfmc15 xfmc16 xfmc17\"><span class=\"xfmc18 xfmc19 xfmc20 xfmc21 xfmc22 xfmc23 xfmc24 xfmc25 xfmc26 xfmc27 xfmc28 xfmc29 xfmc30 xfmc31 xfmc32 xfmc33 xfmc34 xfmc35\" dir=\"auto\">Andriy Yermolenko<\/span><\/span>\u00a0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Sunday, December 10, International Human Rights Day is marked all over the world &#8211; it was on this day in\u00a01948, during the third session of the UN General Assembly, that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted.
