At the initiative of the UN, the world celebrates the International Day of Older Persons on October 1.<\/p>\n
The so-called head of occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, posted congratulations on this day in his telegram channel and noted that the older generation needs our support. It is the duty of each of us to surround our dear elderly with attention and care.<\/p>\n
However, at the same time, the occupiers are doing absolutely the opposite in Crimea. After all, people are subject to repression regardless of age and gender.<\/p>\n
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, today there are 10 elderly political prisoners of Crimea in pre-trial detention centers and colonies:<\/p>\n

\u2014 Dovh<\/span>opola\u00a0H<\/span>aly<\/span>na \u2014 68 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Omerov Enver \u2014 62 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Pry<\/span>khodko Oleh<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 65 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Muratov Zekirya \u2014 66 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Bekirov Inver \u2014 60 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Mambetov Khalil \u2014 68 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Abbozov Seitiia<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 66 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Ei<\/span>upov Azamat \u2013 60 years old<\/p>\n \u2014 Sei<\/span>dalii<\/span>ev Nasrulla\u00a0 \u2013 64 years old<\/p>\n Servet Gaziev, Inver Bekirov, Enver Omerov, Zekirya Muratov,\u00a0Halyna<\/span>\u00a0Dovh<\/span>opola, Nasrulla Sei<\/span>dali<\/span>iev and Oleh<\/span>\u00a0Pry<\/span>khodko have already been sentenced to terms ranging from 18 to 5 years in prison.<\/p>\n Moreover, 61-year-old Crimean Tatar political prisoner Dzhemil Gafarov died in a Russian pre-trial detention center.<\/p>\n The\u00a0CT<\/span>RC notes that, given the age of these political prisoners, such terms can and have already proven fatal for them. In addition, we must take into account the fact that each of the political prisoners has serious and chronic diseases, which are especially evident due to inadequate conditions of detention in pre-trial detention centers and prisons, systemic ignoring of complaints by law enforcement agencies, as well as inadequate and untimely medical care.<\/p>\n According to the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, they are all entitled to regular medical care, which of course they do not receive. And long sentences in colonies and prisons for elderly people with health problems are a separate form of torture.<\/p>\n The Crimean Tatar Resource Center demands that the Russian Federation immediately release all of the above persons and other political prisoners of the Kremlin, and also stop systematically violating human rights in occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" At the initiative of the UN, the world celebrates the International Day of Older Persons on October 1.
