The Crimean Tatar Resource Center has spoken about this more than once and dedicated the film\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">Give me<\/span>\u00a0back my dad<span lang=\"EN-US\">!<\/span>\u00a0to this topic, which tells the story of children whose parents were imprisoned or forcibly kidnapped after the occupation of the peninsula.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">But in fact, there are much more categories of children affected by the occupation of Crimea:<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; 15 children tragically died;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; 1 infant was separated from mother;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; Dozens of children have suffered because of the murder and enforced disappearance of their fathers;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; tens of thousands of children are deprived of the right to study their native (Crimean Tatar or Ukrainian) languages in the occupied Crimea;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; tens of thousands of children suffered from ecocide in the occupied Crimea;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children from the mainland of Ukraine are deprived of the right to health improvement and medical rehabilitation in children&#8217;s health centers and children&#8217;s specialized sanatoriums in Crimea;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; thousands of children became forced migrants, thus deprived of the right to live in their homeland in the national community;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; tens of thousands of children have become victims of the militarization of the educational process, in violation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and 51 Article IV of the Geneva Convention, which prohibits propaganda of service in the army of the occupying state among the civilian population. Russia forms in the minds of Crimean children a cult of war, service in the Russian army, a cult of violence and hatred;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; thousands of children become victims of inciting ethnic hatred and racial intolerance;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; thousands of children from orphanages are deprived of the right to obtain Ukrainian citizenship and move to the mainland of Ukraine;<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">&#8211; tens of thousands of children are limited in their right to education in the Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">And since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the number of affected children has increased significantly. So, as a result of the armed aggression of Russia, 488 children have already died, more than 1,504 have been injured. Millions of Ukrainian children crossed the border of neighboring countries as refugees, and the same number of children are now internally displaced persons within Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The Russian Federation took away childhood from millions of children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The Crimean Tatar Resource Center believes that the Ukrainian and international community should join forces to protect the rights of children affected by the occupation of Crimea and the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the near future. The Crimean Tatar Resource Center, for its part, will make every effort so that as many people as possible in the world can learn about the children who have suffered because of the crimes of Russia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Indeed, we have successful results of our work. On March 17,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>, the Pre-trial Chamber II issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, who is the presidential commissioner for children. This decision is also the result of the work of the\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">CT<\/span>RC. After all, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the organization has been monitoring and collecting information about children from the newly occupied territories of the Kherson and Zapor<span lang=\"EN-US\">izh<\/span>zh<span lang=\"EN-US\">ia<\/span>\u00a0regions and systematically communicates with the investigators of the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">We continue to work further.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Children should live, not die.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, September 1, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center congratulates everyone on the beginning of the school year and expresses support to all children who, due to a full-scale war in Ukraine, are forced to celebrate this day in another city, country or under occupation.
