All actions of the Russian Federation, starting with the occupation of Crimea, are criminal and flagrantly violate international law. But behind every violation of human rights in Crimea, there is a certain person. It is very important that those who are directly involved in human rights violations in the occupied peninsula receive their punishment.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center is systematically working towards the adaptation of laws similar to the Magnitsky Act in order to introduce personal sanctions against those responsible for human rights violations in Crimea. We have developed a methodology for assessing the feasibility of imposing personal sanctions against persons in the temporarily occupied territories who cooperate with the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Based on this methodology, the experts of the CTRC presented a list of 166 persons who violate human rights in the occupied Crimea. In addition, a classification of persons involved in the persecution of political prisoners, their relatives and Crimean activists was presented:<\/p>\n

  1. FSB officers<\/li>\n
  2. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs<\/li>\n
  3. Prosecutors<\/li>\n
  4. Judges<\/li>\n
  5. Court secretaries\/clerks<\/li>\n
  6. Experts\/doctors<\/li>\n
  7. Employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service<\/li>\n
  8. Lawyers<\/span>\u00a0by Appointment<\/li>\n
  9. Other officials (ministries, Ministry of Emergency Situations, investigatory committee, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In September\u00a02021<\/span>, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center sent a sanctions list of 50 persons responsible for human rights violations in the occupied Crimea to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as the embassies of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and EU.<\/p>\n
