This was reported by the press service of the FSB.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The occupants claim that in January\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2016\">2016<\/span>\u00a0the man left Crimea and voluntarily joined the battalion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">A criminal case was initiated against the man under part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of Russia (participation in an armed formation not provided for by federal law).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The court found him guilty and sentenced him in absentia to 9 years in prison with a term in a penal colony with a strict regime and restriction of freedom for 1 year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Recall that since\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2014\">2014<\/span>, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has recorded 28 detentions on charges of participation in the Noman \u00c7elebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion: 12 in the occupied Crimea, 16 in the occupied Kherson region after February 24,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2022\">2022<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kyiv district court of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) sentenced in absentia a resident of Yevpatoriia to 9 years in prison for participating in the Crimean Tatar battalion named after.
