On March 23,\u00a02023<\/span>, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center publicly appealed to the National Security and Defense Council with a call to take into account the collaborative activities of Oleksandr Batalin and apply personal sanctions to him in the form of deprivation of state awards, including the title of Hero of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

More than two weeks have passed and during this time the lawyers of the CTRC have worked out the issue of depriving the collaborators of the title of Hero of Ukraine in the legal plane: we have sent a written appeal to the state bodies of Ukraine (the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine) so that they, in accordance with the Law Ukraine On Sanctions submitted the issue of applying personal sanctions in the form of deprivation of state awards for consideration by the Security Council.<\/p>\n

We remind you that\u00a0<\/a>Oleksandr\u00a0Batalin, who received the title of Hero of Ukraine on August 24,\u00a02012<\/span>, has been actively cooperating with the occupying authorities from the very beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war: since June 12,\u00a02014<\/span>, he became a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea and a member of the United Russia party, and the Fiolent plant, which he has been running for many years, provides the production of certain products for the Russian military industry, that is, in fact, helps to kill Ukrainians.<\/p>\n

Such collaboration activity, in our opinion, is not compatible with the highest state award of Ukraine, but the list of sanctions that were indefinitely applied to Batalin in May\u00a02018<\/span>, as it turned out, does not include sanctions in the form of depriving him of state awards!<\/p>\n

At the same time, in Ukraine there is a mechanism for depriving a person of state awards by applying sanctions to him in accordance with the Law of Ukraine On Sanctions. So, by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of June 18,\u00a02021<\/span>, another Crimean collaborator Mykola Boi<\/span>ko was deprived of the state awards of Ukraine, but sanctions were applied to him only for 3 years, that is, after\u00a02024<\/span>\u00a0he will again become the Hero of Ukraine!<\/p>\n

Of course, this should not be allowed, therefore, in its written appeals, the CTRC proposed to amend the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of 05\/02\/2018<\/span>\u00a0and 06\/18\/2021<\/span>\u00a0and apply sanctions in the form of deprivation of state awards of Ukraine against Batalin Oleksandr and Boyko Mykola indefinitely!<\/p>\n

We hope for a quick response from state authorities and continue our systematic work to bring to justice all those who contributed to the occupation of Crimea and are involved in the commission of war crimes in Ukraine!<\/p>\n
