{"id":221769,"date":"2023-03-01T13:25:50","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T11:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ctrcenter.orgdunya-mijatovic-was-told-about-the-real-situation-in-the-occupied-crimea"},"modified":"2023-03-01T13:25:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T11:25:50","slug":"dunya-mijatovic-was-told-about-the-real-situation-in-the-occupied-crimea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/en\/dunya-mijatovic-was-told-about-the-real-situation-in-the-occupied-crimea","title":{"rendered":"Dunya Mijatovi\u0107 was told about the real situation in the occupied Crimea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"xfmc2\">On Tuesday, February 28, in the office of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, a meeting was held with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Dunya Mijatovi\u0107, and the staff of her office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The meeting was also attended by the leader of the Crimean Tatar people,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">MP<\/span>\u00a0of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis, People&#8217;s Deputy of Ukraine Ahtem Chiy<span lang=\"EN-US\">h<\/span>oz,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">Head<\/span>\u00a0of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the Department for Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev, member of the Mejlis Riza Shevkiev, and journalist of the ATR TV channel\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">H<\/span>ulsum Khalilova.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Ms. Mijatovic was informed about the real situation of the Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea, about the problems of the Kremlin&#8217;s political prisoners who are in the occupied Crimea and outside the peninsula.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">Head<\/span>\u00a0of the Board of the CTRC presented the main trends identified by the CTRC experts, the dynamics and the number of offenses on the peninsula during the period of the occupation of Crimea, as well as during the period of Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Bariiev said that these trends, as well as recommendations, were submitted by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center for a report on human rights violations to be prepared by the office of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights in the future.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ctrcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/photo_5474386799364260522_y.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ctrcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/photo_5474516674880326021_y.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">In addition, Eskender Bariiev will hand over to Mrs. Mijatovich the legal qualification of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people as an international crime against the indigenous people, which was developed by the experts of the CTRC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Speaking about the Law of Ukraine On the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine, the\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">Head<\/span>\u00a0of the Board of the CTRC noted that it is very important to make this law work.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">\u201cFor this, the experts of the CTRC calculated that it is necessary to develop 17 by-laws and make changes and additions to more than 15 laws of Ukraine, including the Constitution of Ukraine\u201d<span lang=\"EN-US\">,-<\/span>\u00a0he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, February 28, in the office of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, a meeting was held with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Dunya Mijatovi\u0107, and the staff of her office.
