{"id":216927,"date":"2023-01-09T18:18:01","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T16:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ctrcenter.org\/ukraine-has-created-the-national-commission-on-the-crimean-tatar-language"},"modified":"2023-01-09T18:18:01","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T16:18:01","slug":"ukraine-has-created-the-national-commission-on-the-crimean-tatar-language","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ctrcenter.org\/en\/ukraine-has-created-the-national-commission-on-the-crimean-tatar-language","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine has created the National Commission on the Crimean Tatar language"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"xfmc2\">On January 6,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a decision was made to establish the National Commission on the Crimean Tatar Language.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">In Resolution No. 19 of January 6,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine notes the intentions:<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Create a National Commission on the Crimean Tatar language, consisting of according to the annex.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Approve the Attached Regulations on the National Commission for the Crimean Tatar Language.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">According to the attached appendix, the commission will include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine &#8211; Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Co-Chairman of the National Commission<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Other authorized persons acting by prior consent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">There will be 13 people in total. The resolution has already been approved by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shm<span lang=\"EN-US\">y<\/span>hal. The main task of the National Commission will be the preservation of the Crimean Tatar language, which is currently included by UNESCO in the list of languages in need of protection.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">On January 6,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2023\">2023<\/span>, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a decision was made to establish the National Commission on the Crimean Tatar Language.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">We remind you<\/span>\u00a0that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center for many years draws attention to the situation of the Crimean Tatar language throughout Ukraine, including the temporarily occupied territories. Thus, the commission will be created to implement the Strategy for the Development of the Crimean Tatar Language for\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"20222032\">2022-2032<\/span>, within the framework of which the project of the NGO QIRIM YOUNG was implemented on the creation of the National Corpus of the Crimean Tatar Language. The CTRC provided the organization with 2 official translations of international documents in the Crimean Tatar language: the General Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The first translation was presented by the CTRC team on October 24,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2019\">2019<\/span>, and the second one on November 10,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2021\">2021<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Moreover, at the 21st session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples, Zarema Bariieva, manager of the CTRC, spoke about the intentions of the organization to actively participate in expert work on the Global Plan of Action for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages. The manager also condemned the crushing policy of the occupying authorities in relation to the Crimean Tatar language and culture: despite the fact that the Crimean Tatar language has the status of the state language in the territory of the occupied Crimea, it is almost completely absent from schools, government institutions and official resources of Russian websites. Cases have been recorded of removal from the hall of courts and dismissal of workers for using their native language.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Judging by the tendency to destroy any presence of the Crimean Tatar language in everyday life, both in the past and in the present, one can understand the true attitude of the Russian authorities towards the Crimean Tatars as representatives of the indigenous people of Ukraine.
