The defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case, Raif Fevzi<span lang=\"EN-US\">i<\/span>ev and Ernes<span lang=\"EN-US\">t<\/span>\u00a0Ametov, were sentenced to 17 years and 18 years and 6 months in a strict regime colony, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">In addition, out of 17 years in the colony, Raif Fevzi<span lang=\"EN-US\">i<\/span>ev must serve the first 3 years in prison, and after serving the main term, he must be restricted in freedom of movement for another 2 years. Ernes<span lang=\"EN-US\">t<\/span>\u00a0Ametov will have to spend the first 5 years in prison, and after his release, he will have to comply with restrictions for 7 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">The accusations in this\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">so-called\u00a0<\/span>case are traditionally based on the testimony of hidden witnesses and the conclusions of so-called experts actively cooperating with the Russian punitive system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">Moreover, this\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\">so-called\u00a0<\/span>case is illegal, since Crimea is the occupied territory of Ukraine and, in accordance with the norms of international law, in particular the IV Geneva Convention, the legislation of the occupier cannot be applied in the occupied territory of Crimea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xfmc2\">We emphasize that this is the second time Ernes<span lang=\"EN-US\">t<\/span>\u00a0Ametov has been asked for such a huge sentence. In\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2020\">2020<\/span>, the occupiers demanded that the man be sentenced to 17 years and 6 months with restriction of liberty for 7 months. But on September 16,\u00a0<span data-ukrnet-code=\"2020\">2020<\/span>, Ernes<span lang=\"EN-US\">t<\/span>\u00a0Ametov was released.
