In the territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions temporarily occupied by Russian troops, the local population is being persecuted and repressed.<\/p>\n
Russian occupants illegally break into the homes of civilians, conduct searches, detain people, subject them to inhumane and degrading treatment.<\/p>\n
In the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, illegal activities are carried out by the occupation administrations, employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation and special services controlled by them, who arrived from the occupied districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk districts controlled by the Russian Federation. Chambers for illegal detention of people, interrogations and torture of civilians are being created in the premises of educational institutions.<\/p>\n
The Russian occupants exert total pressure and intimidation on civil society activists, deputies of local self-government bodies, heads of territorial communities, directors and teachers of schools, heads of medical institutions and doctors in order to force them to serve the occupying authorities. People are deprived of the opportunity to receive wages, pensions, social benefits, they do not have vital medicines, there is not enough food.<\/p>\n
As in the Crimea occupied by the Russian Federation since February 2014, the Russian occupiers carry out systemic persecution of representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people in the settlements of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Thus, an activist of the Crimean Tatar national movement Nasrulla Seidaliiev, as well as compatriots Arsen Ibraimov and Rustem Huhurik, who are accused of participating in the the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion and the civil blockade of Crimea, were illegally detained and taken to the territory of Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and placed in a pre-trial detention center in Simferopol.<\/p>\n
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people supports the selflessness and loyalty to the Ukrainian state of the absolute majority of the inhabitants of the settlements of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, which are under the temporary occupation of Russian troops.<\/p>\n
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people reminds citizens of Ukraine that collaboration is a criminal offense, and those who agree to cooperate with the Russian occupation authorities will be held criminally liable.<\/p>\n
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, until the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will further provide moral, informational, and in some cases practical support to compatriots living in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, supporting the unity of the military-political leadership of Ukraine and the cohesion of the Ukrainian political nation, as well as fully trusting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expresses confidence in the speedy liberation of the territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.<\/p>\n
