The document will then be finalized and submitted to the Human Rights Council at its fifty-first session in September 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his report, the CTRC provided information&nbsp;about the history of&nbsp;official recognition of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people by the Ukrainian state.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&ldquo;The path of official recognition of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people by the Ukrainian state was very long and difficult. Only after the occupation of Crimea began, Ukraine began to actively engage in the restoration and realization of the rights of the Crimean Tatar, Karaite&nbsp;and Krymchak peoples, and this process continues to this day&rdquo;,-&nbsp;the report said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The authors of the report noted that at the moment the Crimean Tatars found themselves in a situation where most of the population lives under occupation. They cannot benefit from the enacted legislation that has been provided to them because Ukraine does not exercise effective control over the Crimean peninsula.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&ldquo;At the same time, the regulations adopted by the Russian Federation and the so-called occupying authorities of Crimea claim to exercise the rights of the Crimean Tatar people. But also the de facto authorities do not consult with the authorized representative body of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people when making such decisions. Moreover, they banned the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in 2016, calling it an extremist organization, and also did not comply with the order of the UN ICJ dated April 19, 2017
