MP Yana Zinkevich stressed the importance of this campaign, called on her parliamentary colleagues to join the initiative and take patronage over other political prisoners of the Kremlin.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the International Movement for the De-occupation of Crimea and Solidarity with the Crimean Tatar People #LIBERATECRIMEA within the framework of the international campaign Atal\u0131k (Godfather) launched the campaign "MP, Help the Prisoners of the Kremlin!", in which it called on Ukrainian MPs to take patronage over the Crimeans who were arrests or persecution by the Russian invaders.<\/p>\n

We remind that Emir-Huseyn Kuku, Vadym Siruk, Muslim Aliev, Enver Bekirov, Arsen Dzhepparov and Refat Alimov are accused of participation in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in the Russian Federation. They are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it). Later they began to impute Article 278 of the Criminal Code (Forced seizure of power or forcible retention of power). On October 11, during a court session in the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don, the prosecutor requested 13 to 20 years in prison for the so-called Yalta Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendants. On November 12, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the sentence. Muslim Aliev and Enver Bekirov were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in a maximum security penal colony, Emir-Huseyn Kuku and Vadym Siruk – to 12 years, Refat Alimov – to 8 years, Arsen Dzhepparov – to 7 years.<\/p>\n

We remind that on February 8, 2019, Russian security officials searched the dwelling of pro-Ukrainian activist Oleh Prykhodko in the village of Orikhove, Saky District.<\/p>\n

On October 9, 2019, Russian security officials again broke into Oleh Prykhodko’s dwelling and kidnapped him. On October 10, a search was conducted in his dwelling, during which the man was detained. His wife Liubov Prykhodko was also detained. The activist is accused of “terrorism" and “manufacture of explosives.” The woman was detained as a witness, but later released. On October 10, the so-called Kyiv District Court arrested Oleh Prykhodko until December 10. Later Prykhodko’s DNA samples were illegally taken. According to lawyer Nazim Sheikhmambetov, this was done for the purpose of falsifying evidence. The political prisoner had his measure of restraint repeatedly extended<\/p>\n

On March 3, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to Oleh Prykhodko. The occupants sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony with the first year in prison.<\/p>\n
