We emphasize that all actions of the Russian Federation, starting with the occupation of Crimea, are criminal and flagrantly violate international law.<\/p>\n
However, until now, the EU sanctions abusers Crimea have been applied only against abusers involved in the violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, and not against people who are directly involved in human rights violations on the occupied peninsula, now we are waiting for a response from their side. This means that judges, investigators, prosecutors, FSB officers and representatives of law enforcement agencies remain unpunished.<\/p>\n
We remind you that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center is systematically working towards adapting the the laws similar to the Magnitsky Act in order to introduce personal sanctions against abusers responsible for human rights violations in Crimea. We have developed a methodology for assessing the feasibility of introducing personal sanctions against persons in the temporarily occupied territories who cooperate with the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
Based on this methodology, the experts of the CTRC presented a list of 166 people who violate human rights in the occupied Crimea. In addition, a classification of persons involved in the persecution of political prisoners, their relatives and Crimean activists was presented:<\/p>\n
1. FSB officers<\/p>\n
2. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs<\/p>\n
3. Employees of the prosecutor’s office<\/p>\n
4. Judges<\/p>\n
5. Court clerks<\/p>\n
6. Experts\/doctors<\/p>\n
7. Employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service<\/p>\n
8. Lawyers by appointment<\/p>\n
9. Other officials (Ministries, Ministry of Emergency Situations, next, etc.)<\/p>\n

In September 2021, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center sent a sanctions list of 50 people responsible for human rights violations in the occupied Crimea to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as to the embassies of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Estonia, Latvia and the EU.\u00a0 At the moment we proceed with our activities aimed at reaching result in our work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
