“In fact, we do not see any relief, softer sentences from the occupation courts. Quite the opposite. The courts have already started sentencing to prison. Prison detention is more severe. our compatriots are in the FSB dungeons. A prison differs from a strict regime colony in that there may be some shops on the territory of the colony where you can walk, but in the prison they are closed in the cell”,- Bariiev explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Head of the CTRC stressed that the Russian Federation continues to violate international law, the VI Geneva Convention, and in the occupied territory applies its own legislation, which has been tightening over the past 3 years. Bariiev believes that the Russian Federation is abusing its legislation on the peninsula in order to continue repressions against Crimeans, to deprive them of their property, especially those who did not agree to take Russian passports. In addition, with the help of Russian legislation, it continues to violate the rights of Ukrainians.<\/p>\n

“They are trying to show that Russia's national legislation is higher than international legislation, which contradicts many international acts.
