Above all, he has been feeling ill for over two weeks: cough, fever, weakness &#8211; there are many people with similar symptoms in prison. The temperature went back to normal after one week, but now it is rising again,&rdquo; &#8211; the wife says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The spouse emphasized that no healthcare is delivered to her husband. If the political prisoner wants to get to the medical unit, he has to wait in a line for half-day &#8211; but he doesn&rsquo;t even have enough strength to get up. Zevri Abseitov made use of what he had: some medicine he received earlier from his wife.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let us recall that on May 12, 2016 Russian security forces organized searches in the houses of&nbsp; the representatives of&nbsp; the Crimean Tatar people in the occupied Crimea. As a result, Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov, and Enver Mamutov were detained. They were accused of participating in an organization &ldquo;Hizb ut-Tahrir&rdquo;, which is prohibited in Russia. Everyone was charged with Article 205.5 (&quot;organization of terrorist activities and participation in them&quot;), and later with Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (&quot;Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power&quot;).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After detention, the men were placed in a remand center in Simferopol, where they stayed for 2 year under fabricated and unfounded accusations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the two years of trial, the case was&nbsp; transferred to the North-Caucasian District Military Court. On May 22, 2018, the detained Crimean Tatars were illegally transported from the detention facility in Crimea to the one in Rostov-on-Don.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On December 24, 2018, the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the figurants of the first Bakhchisaray &ldquo;case of Hizb ut-Tahrir&rdquo;. Enver was sentenced to 17 years of&nbsp; imprisonment&nbsp; and one year&nbsp; and 6 months probation; Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, and Rustem&nbsp; Abiltarov &#8211; to 9 years of&nbsp; imprisonment and&nbsp; 1 year of probation<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In their last speech, the figurants of the &ldquo;case&rdquo;&nbsp; did not plead guilty and also pointed to the &quot;politically motivated character&quot; of the criminal case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On July 11, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reduced the sentence term for the figurants in the first Bakhchisaray &quot;Hizb ut-Tahrir case&quot; by 3 months: Enver Mamutov received 16 years and 9 months instead of 17 years, and Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov and Rustem Abiltarov &#8211; 8 years and 9 months instead of 9 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> The figurant of Bakhchisaray case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Zevri Abseitov, illegally sentenced to 8 years and 9 months of prison in the Russian Federation, has deteriorated health: cough, weakness, and fever.
