On July 24, 2020, Musa Suleymanov, a three-year-old Crimean Tatar, disappeared in the village of Strohonivka in the Simferopol region of the occupied Crimea. The child played near the house with his elder sister and was left unattended for 10-15 minutes, because his sick grandmother called his mother.<\/p>\n
On July 26, 2020, after a day and a half of active searches, the boy's body was found in a drain pit near the house. The true circumstances of Musa's death are now unknown.<\/p>\n
Musa Suleymanov is the son of a political prisoner, a defendant in the so-called second Simferopol Hizb-ut Tahrir case Ruslan Suleymanov, who was detained on March 27, 2019 during mass searches in the dwellings of Crimean Tatars.<\/p>\n
On March 28, 2019, by the decision of the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, Suleymanov was arrested on charges under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization”, for which he could face up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n
With the arrest of Ruslan Suleymanov and his brother Eskender Suleymanov, the whole burden of supporting the family, which consisted of three young children – Muhammad (10 years old), Asiye (6 years old) and three-year-old Musa, as well as parents – Zera Suleymanova (71 years old) and Server Suleymanov (73 years), was on the shoulders of a 31-year-old Elzara, Ruslan's wife.<\/p>\n
Despite repeated petitions of Ruslan Suleymanov's lawyers to change the preventive measure due to the presence of three minor children and two elderly people with various somatic diseases, by their criminal decisions, the so-called judges in Crimea and Russian judges left Ruslan Suleymanov under arrest, without objection to the so-called prosecutor's office, ignoring the obvious falsifications and exaggerations of the case.<\/p>\n
This happened both due to the political persecution of the Crimean Tatar activists in this case, and in the framework of the general punitive direction of the so-called justice in Crimea and the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
Therefore, all individuals involved in the obviously unlawful detention of Ruslan Suleymanov in places of detention and in the pressure on his family are also undoubtedly involved in the tragic death of his son, even if it really was a tragic accident, and not a special operation of the Russian special services to intimidate the Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n
Thus, according to the information we have, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center considers these individuals directly involved in the death of Musa Suleymanov:<\/p>\n
– the so-called judges of the so-called Kyivs District Court of Simferopol: Viktor Mozheliansky, Anton Tsykurenko, M. Belousov.<\/p>\n
– judges of the Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don: Igor Tkachev, Vladimir Barvin, Aleksandr Osipov, Olga Borokhova;<\/p>\n
– judges of the Rostov Regional Court: Eduard Soloviev, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Aleksandr Mikulin, Lyudmila Kirsanova;<\/p>\n
– Judge of the Third Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction of Sochi: Olga Silina;<\/p>\n
– the so-called prosecutors of the so-called Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv district of Simferopol Serhii Korneiev and others (the list will be supplemented);<\/p>\n
– the so-called investigators of the so-called department of the FSB of Russia in Crimea Serhii Makhnev, S. Malkov S (the list will be supplemented).<\/p>\n
These individuals, fighting with freedom of speech and belief, with religious and political convictions in the occupied territory, with the rights of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people in Crimea, did everything possible to ensure that Musa Suleymanov was left without full parental care and attention.<\/p>\n
By their inhuman acts of organizing political persecution and racial discrimination of the Crimean Tatar people, these officials created all the conditions for the death of an innocent child.<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center expresses condolences to the relatives of all victims of the occupation of Crimea, strongly condemns such illegal and inhuman actions of the Russian security officials, demands the immediate release of Ruslan Suleymanov and all political prisoners arrested in the occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center points to the special cynicism and complete inhumanity and immorality of the Russian security officials, who are trying to shift the blame for the death of Musa Suleymanov from the punishers in robes and uniforms to the members of the Suleymanov family who remain at large, and will monitor these criminal acts of the occupants and further.<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center demands that independent experts and representatives of the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross be immediately admitted to the investigation of the death of Musa Suleymanov, in particular, to conduct research and examinations, and transfer these materials to them if they cannot arrive in the occupied Crimea;<\/p>\n
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center calls on the international community to increase pressure on the Russian Federation in order to end political persecution in Crimea, as well as to introduce personal sanctions against individuals involved in human rights violations on the territory of Crimea, in particular against all of the aforementioned individuals who were certainly involved in the tragic death of Musa Suleymanov.<\/p>\n
