"The final amount raised is 1,161,000 rubles. This money will primarily be spent to pay fines that were illegally imputed to people who participated in the rally in Moscow. Not all appeals in this case have yet passed, but the amount of fines imposed varies in the range of 700 thousand rubles”, -said Cholakchik, claiming also that the remaining money is used for the needs of families of political prisoners.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We remind that on the 10th of July, the Crimean Tatar activists took part in a protest rally on Red Square in Moscow against the prosecution of Crimean Tatars in occupied Crimea. Participants unfurled posters that claimed the following: "Stop persecution on ethnic and religious grounds," "The fight against terrorism in Crimea is a fight against dissent," "Our children are not terrorists". After the rally began, Russian police detained seven people. On the 11th of July, near the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, where the appeal of the defendants of the so-called first Bakhchysarai Hizb ut-Tahrir case was examined, the Russian police detained 46 people who showed up to support their compatriots.<\/p>\n

On the 29th of July, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 20 thousand rubles to eighteen Crimean Tatars, who were detained on the 11th of July in front of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. All were found guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The total amount of the fine amounted to 360,000 rubles (5,666 USD). On the 5th of August, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 15 thousand rubles to three other Crimean Tatars, who were detained on July 11 in front of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Between the 9th and the 21st of August the Meshchansky court of Moscow fined seventeen another Crimean Tatars by 10 thousand rubles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
