Therefore, already seventeen people involved in the second Simferopol so-called “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” have their arrest extended up until the 14th-15th of November.<\/p>\n
On the 9th of August the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the detention term of Akim Bekirov, Seytveli Seytabdiev and Asan Yanikov. On the 12th of August the so-called Lenins’kyi District Court of Rostov-on-Don extended the terms of arrest to Riza Izetov, Remzi Bekirov, Shaban Umerov and Ruslan Suleymanov, and the Kirov District Court of Rostov-on-Don did the same to the terms of arrest of Osman Arifmemetov, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov, Servet Gaziev, Farkhod Bazarov and Bilayl Adilov.<\/p>\n
We remind that on the 27th of March Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea carried out mass searches in 26 households of the Crimean Tatars. Literature was seized from some activists, which, according to the Crimean Solidarity, were planted by these very security forces. In addition to books and leaflets, the phones, tablets, laptops, passports were confiscated. Security officials behaved rudely. It is reported that they resorted even to physical violence against detainees. They also entered the houses without taking off the shoes. Lawyers who arrived at the site of the searches were not allowed any access to their defendants. As a result, 20 people were suspected of their involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. On the 28th of March, three more Crimean Tatar activists were detained, the searches in their households were carried out in their absence. The whereabouts of yet another Crimean Tatar – Edem Yayachikov – remains unknown. On the 27th-28th of March the so-called court arrested all 23 detainees after the aforementioned searches. The detentions were imposed up until the 15th of May. Every single detainee is accused of membership in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. Later, the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denysova claimed that information about the whereabouts of previously arrested Crimean Tatars in Rostov region was confirmed. On Tuesday, the 13th of August, the Tahanskyi District Court of Rostov region extended the detention terms of four more defendants in the second Simferopol so-called \u201cHizb ut-Tahrir case\u201d.
