The program of the event consisted of 21 sessions in which the participants were acquainted with types of civil initiatives advocating for human rights, liberation movements in different countries, the role of visual language and design in international civil information campaigns, the national non-violent movement of the Crimean Tatar people, the international information campaign " #LIBERATECRIMEA », peculiarities of street actions and campaigns, performance as an instrument of de-occupation of Crimea. The speakers and trainers of the international liberal summer camp "Liberty Camp " were international lawyers, psychologists, designers, film-directors and politicians of Ukraine, Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n

Beate Apelt, Head of the Representative Office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine and Belarus, told the camp participants about the activities and directions of the Foundation's work, its mission, the history of creation and sources of funding. She noted that their work is based on liberal values, principles of freedom, personal responsibility, openness and tolerance, and respect for human rights.<\/p>\n

Boris Babin, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, told the participants about the occupation of Crimea in the context of violation of international law. The speaker drew parallels between the occupation of Crimea and the Baltic countries, stressing that Crimea is the first illegal annexation after World War II.<\/p>\n

"Liberty Camp" was visited by Benjamin L. Schmitt, Adviser on European Energy Security of the US State Department, who in his speech reminded that the United States is Ukraine's strategic partner and fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Kersti Kiviruut, an expert at the Estonian Institute for Human Rights, introduced the concept of emotional polarization, migration crisis and radicalization to the camp participants, and explained how these concepts deal with human rights. The expert described the methodology of non-violent resistance to occupation and aggression.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, acquainted the participants with the history of the national liberation movement of the Crimean Tatar people: experience, problems and perspectives, and also conducted a role-playing game "Red and Blue".<\/p>\n

The expert of the Estonian Institute of Human Rights Oliver Loode spoke about the liberation movements in different countries in the historical context, in particular, about Estonia's experience in the struggle for its independence.<\/p>\n

Iryna Brunova-Kalisetska, Executive director of the "Integration and Development Center for Information and Research" explained to the activists the psychological aspects of the Europeans' perception of information about Crimea. Participants, working in groups, developed campaigns on de-occupation of Crimea, aimed at different target audiences.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Solontay, Head of the practical policy program at the Institute for Political Education, Head of the political council of the Power of People told about the ways of holding street actions and campaigns, as well as the development of civil society and the political situation in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Famous Ukrainian artist, caricaturist Andriy Yermolenko, together with the participants of the "Liberty Camp ", developed 10 posters on the de-occupation of Crimea within the framework of the #LIBIRATECRIMEA information campaign.<\/p>\n

Director, journalist Galina Dzhikayeva told how the performance (art) can contribute to de-occupation of Crimea. Under the direction of the director, participants in the liberal camp created 20 performances that actualize the problem of the occupation of Crimea.<\/p>\n

The manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Zarema Bariieva acquainted the participants of the international camp with the causes and consequences of the occupation of Crimea, as well as with the situation with violation of human rights in the occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n
All the lectures and trainings were accompanied by practical exercises and work in groups.<\/p>\n

Participants of the Summer Liberal Camp " Liberty Camp" from different parts of the world, together with representatives of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea held a rally on the border line with the occupied Crimea in the village Strilkove, Henichesk region. Within the framework of this event, participants performed hymns of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar people, congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day and demanded to liberate the territory of the occupied peninsula and called for joining the international information campaign on the de-occupation of Crimea #LIBERATECRIMEA.<\/p>\n

As part of the evening program, film-screenings and discussions of such films as "The Singing Revolution", "Haytarma", "The Struggle for survival of the Indigenous People of Crimea", "The Witness of Apartheid", etc. were organized.<\/p>\n
At the end of the International Liberal Summer Liberal Camp, Eskender Bariiev stressed that the participants will become volunteers of the international solidarity movement for the de-occupation of Crimea "#LIBIRATECRIMEA".<\/p>\n
