FSB detained the so-called Ukrainian saboteurs
The FSB of the Russian Federation stated that it had suppressed the intelligence and sabotage activities of the Ukrainian special services on the territory of three Russian regions. Russian security forces detained two agents of the Security Service of Ukraine and an agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The FSB claims that it detained two agents of the Security Service of Ukraine: Zynovii Koval, born in 1974, and his son, Ihor Koval, born in 1999, “who arrived in Russia to collect information and take photographs and video of strategically important life support enterprises and transport infrastructure facilities.”
“The detainees confessed that they were recruited by the current employee of the SSU in the Ternopil region, Colonel Vasyl Kovalyk, born in 1973, who assigned them the task of collecting information about strategic objects for a reward of $ 10,000”, - the message said.
In addition, an agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tsilyk, was detained, who was “sent to the territory of our country with the aim of committing a terrorist act.”
“A resident of the Kyiv Region, Oleksandr Tsilyk, born in 1998, confessed that he was recruited and acted on the instructions of Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Kyrylovets, born in 1988, the head of the sector - an employee of the operational group of the Operations Department of the Special Reserve of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The terrorist attack was planned to be carried out by detonating two improvised explosive devices with a total mass of 1.5 kg in TNT equivalent”,- the FSB added.
It is known that the men were detained in three Russian regions. But, since this statement was commented by the so-called head of the occupied Crimea Sergey Aksenov, there are suggestions that the detention happened on the territory of the peninsula.
“Our special services reliably protect Crimea from existing threats. Terrorists, saboteurs and extremists have not the slightest chance of carrying out their criminal plans”,- he wrote via Facebook.
