The number of residents of the occupied Crimea increased by 20 thousand

Olga Baldina, the so-called head of the statistics department for the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, said that the population of the peninsula has grown by 20 thousand since the moment of its occupation. This is reported by the Russian state news agency TASS.

“In 2014, according to the census, there were 1.89 million people in the Republic of Crimea. According to the current census, we have 1.91 million population. This changes mainly consisted of migration and natural movement. Population growth in Crimea is ensured, you know, due to migration movement”,- she said.

According to Baldina, according to the 2014 census, according to the ethnic composition of the population, 65% declared themselves as Russians, 16% as Ukrainians, 12% as Crimean Tatars. In total, representatives of 175 nationalities live in the region.
