During the OSCE meeting in Vienna CTRC spoke about the repressions against media of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people (video)
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center and the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people organized a side event "Ban of freedom of expression and freedom of the media for the indigenous people in the occupied Crimea", which took place on November 2 in Vienna in the framework of the OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension meeting: "The role of free media in the comrehensive approach to security ". The event was supported by the International Renaissance Foundation and the Open Society Foundation.
Speakers Eskender Bariiev, Boris Babin and Aider Muzhdabaiev speak about violations of the collective rights of the Crimean Tatar people and their representatives to freedom of expression and to their own media by the Russian occupation authorities in Crimea;
- aspects of hate speech of the Russian media and illegal broadcasting in Crimean and Kherson region of Ukraine;
- threats and problems faced by the Crimean Tatar television and print media.
In addition, within the side event, a documentary film prepared by the CTRC, "A Struggle for Survival of the Indigenous People of Crimea", as well as a video about one-man pickets in the occupied Crimea
