Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev in an interview with Crimea Realities stressed that the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people of 1944 must be condemned so that this does not happen again.
“On the 78th anniversary of the deportation, the genocide against the Crimean Tatar people, we are all witnesses of how the genocide of Ukrainians is taking place. And the methods are the same. Crimean Tatars were deported, accused of collaborating with the Nazis. Now that Russia has launched a so-called military special operation against Ukraine, the same accusations are being made, Ukrainians have been called Nazis. Russia repeats in Ukraine much of what the Crimean Tatars experienced. Therefore, we need to stop these actions together and condemn them so that they do not happen again”,- Bariiev said.
