Experts have compared the situation in Belarus and in the occupied Crimea (video)

On Thursday, June 17, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine held the 19th session of the Crimean Discussion Club on the topic The authoritarian regime of Belarus and the occupation of Crimea. During the event, experts compared the situations in Belarus and the occupied Crimea and determined that there is a close relationship between these processes. Based on the discussion, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center will develop appropriate recommendations for the Ukrainian authorities.

Speakers:

Eskender Bariiev - Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people (moderator);

Borys Babin - Doctor of Law, Professor, Expert of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center;

Refat Chubarov - Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People;

Yurii Syrotiuk - Director of the Center of Ukrainian Studies of Strategic Research;

Yurii Oliinyk - Expert of the Center of Ukrainian Studies of Strategic Research;

Stanislav Shushkevych - Soviet and Belarusian party, state and political leader, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Belarusian SSR (1991-1994);

Viacheslav Sivchyk - Founder and leader of the Razam solidarity movement.

The experts discussed the following issues:

1. Foreign policy support by the Lukashenko regime of the actions of the Russian Federation

2. Economic support of the Crimean economy by the Lukashenko regime

3. Military and defense cooperation of the Lukashenko regime with the Russian Federation

4. Prospects of the Crimean model of the attempt to annex Belarus by the Russian Federation

Based on the discussion, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center will develop appropriate recommendations for the Ukrainian authorities.
