2 March 2021

Head of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the department of legal affairs and foreign affairs of  Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev on the air of the UA: Krym TV channel highlighted two main goals of the methodology developed by the CTRC experts for assessing the feasibility of introducing personal sanctions against persons who in the temporarily occupied territories collaboate with the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation. The expert emphasized that the methodology is aimed at forming sanctions lists, as well as simply warning our citizens.

“There are two goals: those who are behind the red line, they are included in the lists for sanctions and, accordingly, we are actively working with international organizations, countries that have laws analogous to the Magnitsky Act. The second is to warn, to carry out prevention. Speaking about those citizens, we must take care of them and must give them a message so that they are not afraid that they may have problems with Ukrainian legislation, but understand that after de-occupation there will be no problems in their regard”,- he explained.

Bariiev also announced the launch of the test Will you fall under the sanctions? on the CTRC website, which will help every Crimean resident to find out whether he has crossed the red line or not.
