Bariiev spoke about the reasons for the shortage of water in the occupied Crimea

Head of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with the Dom TV channel, commented on the information that the Simferopol and Zahirsk reservoirs on the occupied peninsula are completely depleted, naming the main reasons for the shortage of water.

Bariev identified the following reasons:

Systematic military exercises;

Overpopulation of the peninsula;

Construction of infrastructure facilities and housing stock;

Uncontrolled water withdrawal directly from wells.

The expert emphasized that the problem of water shortage is the irrational use of the natural water resources of Crimea.
