Bariiev on the Normandy-format meeting: Ukraine should take a stand in preserving sanctions and not supplying water to Crimea
Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, during his interview at the ATR TV channel dedicated to the Normandy-format meeting, emphasized that Ukraine should take a stand in matters of maintaining sanctions against Russia and not supplying water to the occupied Crimea.
“The Russian Federation is interested in the negotiation process and in any way of outplaying the situation in order to lift sanctions and gain a stable water supply to Crimea. However, Ukraine should be principled in these positions. This will be an important step in weakening the positions of the Russian Federation, and accordingly we could approach the Budapest or Geneva format ”,- Bariiev claimed.
