Restrictions on water supply will be lifted in Alushta

February 10, 2022

The so-called head of the occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, said that enough water reserves had accumulated in the Izobylnenske reservoir in order to lift any restrictions in Alushta. He claims that water supplies will be sufficient until the end of the year.

“The accumulated volume of water makes it possible to remove all restrictions on water supply in Alushta even at night. Now there are more than 7 million cubic meters of water in the Izobylnenske reservoir. For comparison, for the whole of 2021, 4.5 million cubic meters were accumulated. There will be enough reserves for the city until the end of the year and will allow you to spend the holiday season calmly”,- Sergey Aksenov wrote.

Expert of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Yevhen Khlobystov noted that no one can know what state this reservoir will be closer to the summer period. The volume of water can be reduced depending on precipitation, as well as on the number of water users.

“If we take into account that this is true and indeed there are more than 7 million cubic meters of water in the reservoir, then we will be realistic. With an increase in the number of water consumers and the fact that there are still several months before the holiday season, I have certain doubts that there will really be enough water”,- he stressed.
