On Thursday, March 4, during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, the Deputy Head of the US Mission to the OSCE Courtney Austrian once again confirmed the position of the States regarding Crimea, and also called on the Russian Federation to end the repressive occupation of Crimea and release all political prisoners.
“Russia's actions in Crimea and the ongoing aggression in Ukraine pose a threat to European security and undermine the principles enshrined in the OSCE and the UN, namely that no country can change borders of another one with force. Instead of complying with international norms, Russia is building up military power in the Crimea, including the transfer of aircraft and missiles with nuclear weapons, and ammunition to the peninsula”,- the message says.
The United States demands that Russia end its occupation of Crimea, withdraw its troops from Ukraine, end the repressive occupation of Crimea, and release all political prisoners.
“The US position is clear: Crimea is Ukraine. We strongly reaffirm our support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including its territorial waters”,- Austrian added.
