On Monday, January 11, the invaders began to massively detain activists who are going from Crimea to the city of Rostov-on-Don to the announcement the verdict to the defendants in the so-called Bilohirsk Hizb ut-Tahrir case. It is already known that 11 cars have stopped. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity.

“Activists report that cars with region number 82 are being detained on the Kerch bridge. Now it is known that 11 cars have stopped, in which about 40 passengers have left for Rostov-on-Don for the verdict of the so-called Bilohirsk group, which is to be held tomorrow at 10:00”,- the message says.
According to activists, 120 people were illegally detained.
“It is important to understand that there are no legal grounds not to let anyone (within the framework of the Russian legal field) pass from one conditional region to another conditional region. That is, if the Russian authorities occupied Crimea and consider it their territory, if they imposed on the inhabitants of Crimea their passports and their legislation (including the already amended Constitution), then prohibiting their citizens from moving anywhere within the country means directly violating Article 27 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which guarantees freedom of movement”,- lawyer Nikolai Polozov explained via his Facebook page.
In addition, in such actions of Russian security officials, there is a whole bunch of violations of various international treaties and conventions, for example, Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 14 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, or Article 5 of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
“Additionally, it is important to note that such events also violate Article 19 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which guarantees protection against discrimination on racial and ethnic grounds, and the actions of police officers who carry out such discriminatory measures against Crimean Tatars are uniquely qualified by Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation”,- he added.
We remind that on June 10, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the dwellings of Crimean Tatars in Alushta, Bilohirsk and Simferopol. As a result, 8 people were detained on suspicion of their involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. On June 10 and 11, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until August 5 for the Crimean Tatars detained after searches – Riza Omerov, Enver Omerov, Ayder Dzhepparov, Eskender Suleymanov, Ruslan Nagaev, Eldar Kantimirov, Ruslan Mensutov and Lenur Khalilov. Subsequently, all the defendants in the so-called case were repeatedly extended the terms of their arrest.
