The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphany, in an interview with the Espresso TV channel, said that the Russian authorities are trying to completely destroy the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the occupied Crimea.
“The situation in the occupied territories is now very difficult: in Crimea and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It is to a certain extent different, because in Crimea recently there have been attempts to completely destroy the presence of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The central cathedral is being taken away from us. In certain places, they are trying, according to court orders, to demolish churches”,- he said.
Metropolitan Epiphanius stressed that the Russian government is behaving “worse than the Bolsheviks”, as they themselves destroyed churches. And the occupants decided to demolish the cjurch with their own hands.
