Seven years ago, the UN General Assembly adopted the first resolution on Crimea

Seven years ago, on March 27, 2014, the UN General Assembly adopted the first resolution in response to the actions of the Russian Federation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Resolution 68/262 reaffirmed the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

On March 27, 2014, as a result of an open vote at the 80th plenary meeting of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, resolution A / RES / 68/262 on the territorial integrity of Ukraine was adopted. It confirms the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and does not recognize the legality of any changes in the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the status of the city of Sevastopol. Out of the 193 UN member states, 100 voted in favor, 11 voted against, 58 abstained, and 24 did not vote.
